This disc, released in 2005 celebrates the combined talents of pianist Jamie Cock and soprano Emma Horwood.

Emma Horwood was The Firm’s Artist in Residence in 2005, and the CD features Raymond Chapman Smith’s Im Grase (tr. In the Long Grass) which was written especially for her in 2003.

Emma Horwood
Emma Horwood graduated with a Bachelor of Music from the Elder Conservatorium in 2001 and works as a freelance harpist, singer, teacher and conductor in Adelaide. Emma is a member of the female vocal trio eve, an augmenting singer with the vocal quartet Syntony, and is The Firm’s soprano soloist. She performs regularly as harpist and vocalist at weddings and functions, works on a casual basis as harpist with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, teaches harp, and tutors for the Australian Girls Choir. A core member and soloist with the acclaimed Adelaide Chamber Singers since 2000 Emma has also sung solo arias in Israel in Egypt, and Bach’s St. John Passion and Mass in B Minor.

Jamie Cock
Jamie Cock graduated with Honours in Piano Performance in 1993 from the Elder Conservatorium and holds a Distinction in piano chamber music from the Musikhochschule Freiburg, Germany. From 1999 he worked as a freelance teacher and pianist with various soloists and ensembles throughout Europe. Jamie has been the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, including the Adelaide Eisteddfod Concerto, the AGSA Associate Artist’s Award and the Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Competition for chamber music in Berlin. He returned to Australia in 2005 with engagements for The Firm and three concerts with solo artists for the Jurlique Herb Farm Concert Series.
